As part of my main bedroom makeover, I redid this beautiful antique bedside table.
Here’s a before shot.
And after …
After sanding all the glossy varnish off, I applied 3 coats of flat Aqua paint.
Following this I mixed up a watery black stain solution and working in sections, roughly brushed the stain on.
Then with a damp rag I roughly wiped the stain off to give an aged effect.
Then I used 240 grit sandpaper to distress the entire piece.
The handles also got a coat of gloss black spray paint.
Lastly, I added 2 coats of clear poly to seal and protect.
I absolutely love the way it turned out.
I have another one to do which will go on the other side of our bed.
Oh, and I got this super soft aqua rug on sale which will look great on the end of our bed.
I love to share my projects at these totally amazing Link Parties!
